Notes: #320 went to AMARC 11/90 and wore "AF-123" as drone. It was remotely destroyed after control was lost over White Sands Missile Range on 5/22/03.

Notes: Seen sitting on the Kentucky ANG ramp while visiting from Eglin Air Force Base. Eventually this Phantom went to the 67th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing. Retired to AMARC 10/89.

Notes: "Glamorous Glennis" was stenciled on the nose of #046 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Chuck Yeager breaking the sound barrier, for the 1997 Edwards Air Show. Chuck had originally painted his wife's name on the side of the X-1. Also note the "50th" logo on the tails. This aircraft was eventually sent to the 40th FLTS when the last of the F-15 testing was shifted to Eglin.

Notes: At the time of this photo, #514 was one of three DC-130A drone support aircraft that were being operated through a contract with Avtel for the US Navy. This aircraft was originally USAF #56-0514. #497 can be seen in the background. In 2001 the USN cancelled this contract with Avtel. #514 may have ended up being used at China Lake in some sort of non-flight capacity.

Notes: At the time of this photo, #497 was one of three DC-130A drone support aircraft that were being operated through a contract with Avtel for the US Navy. This aircraft was originally USAF 57-0497. In 2001 the USN cancelled this contract with Avtel. #497 was the only DC-130A to be kept in use and was eventually sent to what is now VX-30 at NAS Point Mugu, to continue its role as a drone launch aircraft.

Notes: Originally USAF #76-0491. This aircraft was owned by the National Science Foundation and operated by the USN's VX-6 / VXE-6 from 1974 to 1999, which was tasked with supporting scientific research in Antarctica. The unit would spend the Summer months at NAS Point Mugu.

Notes: #341 is a "billboard" P-3... The "Bloodhounds" P-3s help with range surveillance and data collecting, during tests on the Point Mugu Sea Range.

Notes: Sent to AMARC 7/92. This aircraft is very interesting in that it was one of the A-7D Corsairs that were being used in the secret training of F-117 Pilots during the "black" phase of the F-117 program. The 4451st "Grim Reapers" or "P-Unit", was based at Nellis AFB, and was activated in 9/81. A second unit designated the 4452nd TS or "Q-Unit", was based at Tonopah.
